Summer 2018 Kick-Off: Top Family Shows

SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER! That means days at the pool, no homework, and better yet (moms close your ears): a lot of family time. Summer is a few months long, and it's hard to fill up all the days with activities that the whole family will enjoy.

Hip, hip, hooray! We're bringing you our list of top family shows for our Summer 2018 Kick-Off. Find the events that your whole family will love, from daredevil dirt bike shows to "You can't sit with us" on the Broadway stage. 

Nitro Circus

Nitro Circus was founded by Travis Pastrana, a professional motorsports competitor who has won gold in major competitions such as the X Games and more. Pastrana formed Nitro Circus as a touring motorsports entertainment show that features him and his friends who compete in motorsports. Dirtbikes, stunts, and base jumps are just a few of the wild parts of a Nitro Circus show. Nitro Circus began as a MTV show that led into the tour, and it has also included a 3-D film for fans.

The Nitro Circus Crew includes Pastrana as well as other male and female names in the sport such as Andy Bell and Jolene "Nitro Girl" Van Vugt. Many of the crew's moves are accomplished on dirt bikes or BMX bikes. The show keeps jaws dropped from the beginning to the end. For all ages, this family-friendly, intense sport action can't be missed!

Marvel Universe Live!

Marvel Universe Live! is a theater show based on the characters from Marvel Studios, a movie company that produces movies under Disney from Marvel Comics, a line of comic books. During the show, over 25 Marvel characters are included in one quest that unfolds throughout the performance. Marvel characters include Spider-Man, Iron man, Captain America, Thor, Black Panther, Hulk, Black Widow, Guardians of the Galaxy, and more.

KIDZ BOP Live

​KIDZ BOP Live is a live tour of the singers who feature on the KIDZ BOP albums. Now on KIDZ BOP 38, the series has lasted for years, creating kid-sung covers of today's top hits to share with audiences of all ages. The covers create clean versions sung by talented young stars similar to the target age of the listener. This fosters a fun music environment that incorporates the radio's top hits with a safe and clean listening pool.

The kid stars who perform on the albums are now set to tour in support of their latest album. The KIDZ BOP crew also releases music videos of their hits, and those moves will certainly be featured in the live touring version, as well. KIDZ BOP 38 includes "Finesse" by Bruno Mars and Cardi B, "Wolves" by Marshmello and Selena Gomez, "In My Blood" by Shawn Mendes, and many more. In addition, the KIDZ BOP original track "We Run The Show" is on the new album.

Spongebob Squarepants

Spongebob Squarepants is a musical based off of the Nickelodeon television show by the same name. Find your favorite characters from Bikini Bottom on the Broadway stage. Spongebob Squarepants, Patrick Star, Gary, Squidward, Mr. Krabs, Sandy Cheeks, and more of your favorite characters are in the Broadway show!

Disney On Ice: 100 Years of Magic

Why brave the heat when you can cool down this summer with the whole family? Disney is celebrating 100 years with the Disney On Ice: 100 Years of Magic show. Suitable for all ages, Disney on Ice brings your child's favorite Disney characters to life for a live ice show unlike any other. Mickey and Minnie Mouse run the show and narrate the story.

Other characters from Frozen, Toy Story, Finding Nemo, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and more make appearances to demonstrate the historical and more recent stars of the Disney franchise.

Monster Jam

Monster Jam is an adrenaline-rushing event that the whole family will enjoy! Witness monster trucks drive obstacle courses and complete tricks that will wow even the youngest fan. The trucks and drivers are known to fans by the style of the trucks and tricks completed. Monster Jam began as a television show, similar to Nitro Circus, that translated into a tour. Monster Jam began in the early '90s and including racing and freestyle competitions.

Mean Girls

OMG, that's so fetch! Mean Girls is the Broadway musical version of the hit film by the same name featuring Lindsey Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and more. After the successful movie franchise, Mean Girls is now on the stage for a fun take on high school mean girls and what it really means to be popular.
