![]() 'Tis the season for Holiday music. Radio stations across the nation have flipped their format to play 24 hours of Holiday music from Thanksgiving to Christmas Day and if you aren’t in the spirit yet then this list of Holiday albums you should be bumpin’ will surely do the trick! Elvis’ Christmas Album – Elvis Presley. The first ever Christmas album by the King, originally released in 1957, this album was still the best selling Holiday album according to Billboard last year. It would be surprising if that still isn’t the case. This album is comprised of eight Christmas songs and four gospel songs. You only have time to listen to one song? Play “Blue Christmas”, though there are plenty of versions of this song the King’s take has an extra sadness about it. ![]() A Charlie Brown Christmas – Vince Guaraldi Trio. Maybe you won’t necessarily “bump” this but if it is smooth jazz you are looking for, than light a fire, heat up some hot chocolate and relax as the instrumentals you know and love from the classic Peanuts special of the same name fill the room. You only have time to listen to one song? Play “Christmas Time is Here”. The soundtrack offers this classic in instrumental or vocal version, you can’t go wrong either way. ![]() Merry Christmas – Mariah Carey. Mariah Carey’s first Holiday album is #7 on the Best-Selling Christmas/Holiday albums list. With classics like “Silent Night”, and “Joy to the World” this album is a joy from track 1 to 10. You only have time to listen to one song? Play “All I Want for Christmas is You”. This original has been remade by Michael Bublé, Lady Antebellum, and more and now sits atop Billboards’ Holiday 100 for the 21st week. Carey’s song has been at number 1 on this chart 21 of the 26 weeks since Billboard introduced it in 2011. ![]() In 1998 a little known boy-band released this gem of a Holiday album mixed with classics such as “The Christmas Song”, “The First Noel” and originals like “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays”, “Under My Tree”. Selling over 4 million copies worldwide this has become a classic among those who were tweens when it was first released. You only have time to listen to one song? While all 14 tracks are worth a listen, play "Merry Christmas, Happily Holidays" and check out the video as the boys are recruited to fill in for a sick Santa by Gary Oldman. The late 90’s were a strange time what can I say? ![]() A Very Decent Christmas – Major Lazer. If there ever was a Holiday album that could be played in the club, this is it. Chock full of holiday beat drops and a remix of “Santa Clause is coming to Town” this one might not be best to play for Grandma, unless Grandma likes EDM. The label, founded by Major Lazer member, Diplo released their first Holiday compilation back in 2013. You only have time to listen to one song? Play “Christmas Trees” the Holiday song by Major Lazer feat. Protoje, sure to bring a bit reggae to your Holiday this season. Did we miss your favorite? Let us know in the comment section.
