Thrash Metal titans Slayer will hit the road with Virginia Metalcore act Lamb of God and Polish Blackened Death Metal band Behemoth this summer.

The tour will see the bands hit outdoor amphitheaters across the country and kicks off July 12th at the Sanford Center in Bemidji, Minnesota and concludes August 20th at the Comerica Theater in Phoenix, Arizona. The tour will also encompass a series of festival dates.

In a press release, guitarist Kerry King said the following:

“As metal tours go, this is the one that your fellow metal heads will be bragging about if you miss it! Not very often I get to go on tour where we are all friends to start. That being said, the potential for greatness at these events in mind blowing. I look forward to being a part of it, and hanging with old friends – bands as well as fanatical fans! Let the festivities begin!”

Pending the confirmation of a rumor of an upcoming Megadeth tour (with Meshuggah, TesseracT and Lillake; first reported by The PRP), all of the “Big Four” of Thrash Metal – Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax - will be on tour this spring through summer.

Another band that announced a tour this week are grunge legends Soundgarden. They will embark on a spring tour. Support with come from The Pretty Reckless and math metal legends The Dillinger Escape Plan on select dates.

The tour starts in late April in Tampa, Florida, ends May 27th in Pryor, Oklahoma, and encompasses a series of festival dates.

Soundgarden is currently working on the follow-up to 2012’s King Animal and will team with iconic indie label Sub Pop to rerelease their 1988 debut, Ultramega OK. The newly remixed version is dubbed a “correction” by the band, who were never happy with the original mix and planned on rereleasing it almost immediately after its initial release, but scrapped their plans in favor of signing with A&M Records and working on 1989’s Louder than Love.
