2017 was the first season in years that the team did not qualify for the MLS Cup. Earlier in the new millennium, LA Galaxy welcomed and celebrated David Beckham's era on the team. However, in recent years post-Beckham, LA Galaxy has rebuilt the dynasty with new faces. American Landon Donovan and more U.S. stars have begun to emerge after Beckham's retirement from the team.
